Recess: Necessity or Nicety? by Education World
During our beginning-of-quarter team meeting, teachers reviewed policies regarding BYOD. A few rules refreshed with the students include docking devices upon entry into a classroom and keeping devices powered off while in the hallways and other transition times. Take a look at the contract students signed (below) and ask your child about this team discussion. We're positive they can let you know at least one or two rules that they had forgotten (especially for homeroom time).
Dress Code Reminders
The plants are growing and so are our students! With all the changes and GROWTH, remember to check your child’s clothing choices. Some of the shorts and shirts that fit perfectly in the summer and fall no longer fit the growing tween in your home. Help him/her to make sure the clothing looks appropriate and adheres to the school dress code. See the picture below for a visual reminder. (Hats are NOT permitted, even though they are pictured.)
WCPSS Dress Code
Many students are in need of pencils and glue sticks. Please check your students' supplies and make sure they have everything they need. Thank you!
