Pumpkin Math 2015
The students will be completing educational Halloween activities on Friday, October 30. We are in need of volunteers to help with the Pumpkin activity (weighing, measuring, carving, etc). Volunteers will need to bring their own knife and assist a group of students in the carving section of the lab. Groups will also be watching dry ice experiments and reading about NC legends.

SOCIAL STUDIES BENCHMARK
The quarter 1 benchmark assessment for social studies will be given on Wednesday, October 7th. This is a 25-question multiple choice test that will NOT count towards the students' overall grade average. When you see it on the grade sheet, please note that it counts as "classwork/homework," meaning it does not get factored into the grade average. Also, students will not have retake opportunities. We will, however, be reviewing information and skills that are missed by a high percentage of the students. Students are working to earn an 80% or higher on this test. They are encouraged to prepare by reviewing all the work in their notebooks from quarter 1. Thank you in advance for helping them to do their best!
A major thanks to Mrs. Swanson's in-laws for donating TONS of supplies to our team! It's the kindness that they've shown, as well as Supernova parents, that keeps our team afloat. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

Students have the opportunity to rework or retake assessments that score a 70% or lower (for MOST classes). If an assessment qualifies, a "reworks sheet" will be stapled to the paper and will have an expiration date stamped on it. The "reworks sheet" MUST be completed IN FULL by the expiration date and signed by an adult in the family. Reworks MUST be completed within 5 school days.
