As you may have noticed, teachers are always begging for supplies and classroom materials. Below is a list of items that are always needed:

If you are available to help proctor for the EOGs, the sign up is HERE. Please consider donating your time, as we need LOTS of help. Thank you in advance to those of you that are able and willing. If you have any questions regarding EOGs or proctoring, please email Rachel Berg (firstname.lastname@example.org). She is the testing coordinator.
May 12th Beach Field Trip
Students will be taking a field trip to Beaufort and Shackleford Banks, completing a series of science and aquatic activities.
The trip will cost $85.00 per student, and the permission slip and payment are due by Friday, April 29th. Families can pay online using the link below, however, there is a convenience fee charged. If you’d prefer, you may send in a check (made payable to Salem Middle) or cash.

Shreya Shenoy - State Spelling Bee finalist! Made it to the 8th round!!!
Varuun Kalvala - Spotlight on Student winner for Salem Middle!
Jonathan Song - Qualified for the State Level 2016 Geography Bee and competed on Friday, April 1st, in Charlotte. He answered 6 out of 8 questions in the first round, which did not qualify him to continue. However, we are so proud of him!

Students have the opportunity to rework or retake assessments that score a 70% or lower (for MOST classes). If an assessment qualifies, a "reworks sheet" will be stapled to the paper and will have an expiration date stamped on it. The "reworks sheet" MUST be completed IN FULL by the expiration date and signed by an adult in the family. Reworks MUST be completed within 5 school days.
